Reminiscing #9: Liv and Phayte

Crown Princess Daisy was very busy and finding less time to run the Lords and Ladies group so her minion, Baroness Liv stepped in. She wanted to provide the group with training, organization, and a sense of stability.  Liv had just been promoted to Baroness and took on the huge task of teaching in her new role as well as helping us. She held weekly meetings, created a schedule for us to follow, was back up if one of us could not host, found replacement DJ's in case of emergency, helped decorate and the like.

Liv and I had become better acquainted in the previous month thanks to her fiancee, Phayte. You may recall he "threw up" on me one night after drinking and sitting around the campfire with Jhoram and other friends. The four of us (Liv, Phayte, Rikk and myself) became very close over the next few months. Liv lives eight hours away from me in rl so our time together was short but powerful. We quickly became best friends and loved setting goals, making lists, collaborating on all sorts of things. During February she held a Winter Olympics themed event. I offered to help her and Phayte and she accepted. She taught me how to edit the surrounding scenery lining up the giant snowcapped tree textures. I felt my self confidence soar as she trusted me with such a task. She and Phayte were on voice and we laughed the whole time. She certainly was and is a giggler. Her SL brother, Kev is a DJ and I quickly enlisted him to be DJ for events. We had a date every Thursday at 2PM SLT we would tease.

One day the clan was bored and there were no events on the schedule. So without thinking for the pure entertainment of the clan announced I would be turned in the arena in a few minutes. Anyone that wanted to taste me was welcome to come bite me. It was February 13 and I was wearing the silliest Cupid outfit you could imagine. Bite after bite I was slowly drained. Liv and Phayte were there to cheer me on. Laini took the last bite of my humanity and I slowly refilled with blood until I embraced the dark side and became a vampire... dressed as cupid. Liv and Phayte gave me a pair of Moody's stillettos as a gift for my turning. Moody's ffs!! I nearly collapsed. I cried. How incredibly thoughtful!

February 16 was their wedding. It was  the most beautiful SL wedding I have ever attended. I was chosen as a bridesmaid and felt so privileged to be included. Jhoram was there as a groomsmen. One of the only times I have ever seen him without one of his trademark FUCK t-shirts. The sight of him made me sad as I missed him so. We all did. I danced with Rikk long after everyone left. My gown was the most beautiful item I owned and I was going to enjoy wearing it as long as possible. Of course Liv had picked it out and paid for it.

Liv had impeccable taste and always dressed to the nines. She has a great sense of humor and kept me laughing til I cried more times than I can count. One day on a dare I dropped in on the landing spot wearing a garment of vines. I double checked to make sure my boobs were covered and tp'd. I forgot to check my snatch. Liv took a picture to show me that it, in fact, was not covered and I turned every shade of red. Her and Phayte laughed and laughed at me. Liv told him to show me his naughty parts to make it fair. We were rolling. It never did rez for me so she took a photo of it using the show hidden prim trick.

Phayte and I also helped Liv with the monthly clan auction fundraiser.  The Hawaiian themed one was especially fun. Kev tried making us coconut bras and we got the giggles again as we couldn't get them to fit correctly. She was an incredible worker so we did what we could. Phayte usually got stuck fixing some issue of scripting or another while I "planted" flowers or trees. It felt good to be part of the grand scheme of things and I learned so much about editing. Phayte was a perfectionist. He was excellent at building and editing so I would often ask him for advice on such matters.

Some of my favorite SL memories include them. Once as I was looking for an event themed item I ended up at a BDSM store. I was in IM's with Phayte describing the people that were there like Titties Magic when someone's butt plug "talked" to me. Oh Phayte loved teasing me about that every chance he could get. Or the time he fell asleep playing Greedy during his turn and we could hear him snoring on mic. One day Liv came home to find him floating in their bathtub wearing sandals. And their on going conversation with the magic mirror over whether Phayte should buy Liv new Moody's that day. I can still hear him say, "baby.." or "my baby". Or Liv staying in bed as long as she possibly could until she had to get up rl. Leaving her mic on we could hear her telling her boys to get her clothes, or convincing them "I've got a great idea" which usually involved some elaborate scheme of keeping grandma and grandpa occupied while she got ready.

Phayte and I both played World of Warcraft before we started SL so we would discuss it often. Liv would have no idea what we were talking about and would randomly state things like *blinks* or *wonders what kind of grass is planted here* or *stares blankly into space*. Oh she would have me in giggle fits.  Phayte tested to be a royal and was soon promoted to be a Lord after I was. We supported each other's events and had a wonderful team with Liv leading us.  In March we were all promoted once more. Liv to Duchess, Phayte to Count and me to Baroness. Phayte and I continued to help Liv with the Lords and Ladies. They both supported me and helped me teach my classes. However, it would all end too soon.

June brought shaky times and they left the clan.  Rikk and I opted to stay. Soon after Phayte left the game all together. Liv and I still stay in touch but not to the extent that we did before. When I think back on those months we spent together it reminds me of Camelot.  I hold my memories dear. For there once was a greatness. A euphoric Camelot. Laughter, strength, a familiar comfort. Alas, all things must come to an end even in a virtual world.  King Arthur: [singing] Don't let it be forgot / That once there was a spot / For one brief shining moment / That was known as Camelot!
