Lola

I met Lola back in 2009 when we were both noobs in Divine.  We shared a bond of MM boards and free Neko clothing.  Over the years we have been in and out of each other's Second Life.  I've always admired her strength and level-headed attitude. She is also a fantastic builder making beautiful clothing and party platforms. When it was time for me to leave Divine she welcomed me to her horde with open arms. I will always be thankful for her sound advice and reassurance when I'm in doubt.  Surprising thing about Lola is her incredible wit. She is hysterical! I love you, Lola.

Laini

Laini. Oh that one word says it all. Such a strong personality, that woman. Deeply private of her rl, she is fiercely loyal if you are lucky enough to be allowed into her world.   One of my dearest friends and the one to call upon when you want to do something naughty. She never judges, never questions, just says "let's do it." Laini and I both joined Divine about the same time back in the fall of 2009. One of my early memories of her was after Rick scripted one of her tails she had me test it. I touched it and instantly was giving her a rim job. I cringed. We laughed and laughed about that. In February 2010,  we both streaked at Cari's wedding and a bond was made. Oh how she loves to rebel and cause a stir!  She drained the last bit of blood from me at my turning and helped make me a vampire. Over time, I have been her liege and in turn her grand minion now. I love you my Lainipie.

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but the sunshine of life, and thanks to the benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine." ~ Thomas Jefferson

"A good friend is a connection to life- a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world." ~ Lois Wyse

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, for in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." ~ Kahlil Gibran

Kumani

Where to begin about Kumani? My mind is filled with so many memories and overwhelmed with emotion when I think of her. She is my shelter from the rain, my voice of reason, my sounding board, my fashion consultant, my tarot card reader,  my sister witch. She keeps me grounded when I get too high and encourages me to soar when I put myself down. She came to me as a gift in Bloodlines in November 2009. Britney was out hunting and brought her back for Daisy. Daisy suggested to give her to me since we were both Americans and on at the same time. Kumani had just removed the garlic right before Britney approached her and wanted to see what the vampires were all about. I believe there are no coincidences in life and we were destined to meet. I became her liege and she in turn became my best friend.  She bloomed and blossomed and moved on to become a Crown Princess in her own right. We remained inseparable friends though our clans were different. I love you, Kumani.

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.  It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.  We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit."  ~Albert Schweitzer

"But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely.  Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away."  ~Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859

"There is magic in long-distance friendships.  They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound."  ~Diana Cortes

Queen for a Week

In a quick and unexpected moment, I suddenly became acting queen. Our queen was beyond stressed in RL and SL, and decided to take a break. That break soon became permanent when she quietly left all the groups. I couldn't blame her. The stress of running the clan by herself is too much.

I evaluated priorities, held a royals meeting, and gathered monies for land tiers for another week.  Encouraging our royals to continue their duties and keep it business as usual.  I contacted the no longer active King with an updated Chain of Command and my recommendations. There was no question about it, I did not want the job and I told him so. My loyalties were there, I just did not have the time to run a clan on SL.

Two of the high royals decided to send hate notices to each other so I removed notice rights for a day. The highly anticipated auction to raise money for land tiers was cancelled. I received notecards of resignation. People were simply done. No amount of effort on my part could cure the damage that had been done. And frankly, I was done too.

After agonizing over the decision, my husband and I decided there was no saving this sinking ship. It was ugly and hateful now. There was no respect, no authority, and no remnants of the empire that once made it Divine.  The Crown Prince and I agreed to leave at the same time for various reasons. He and I conducted the clan meeting when the King did not show. Afterward, he sent out a notice of our departure. Clan chat opened up  with all kinds of questions of what was going on. One of the remaining Princes started bashing the former Queen in clan chat and it just got more and more ugly.

Rick and I had left all groups but one at that point. He named a long time knight as the Archknight. I added the former queen back to the group and she banned the Prince from the lands. He was reinstated the next day by the King. A new queen was announced (the 4th queen in a matter of 6 months). I sent the King the land tiers I had gathered. He didn't know I had left the clan. Rick and I contacted our minions is our line to let them know we were leaving. That was that.  A very very ugly end to the Camelot that was once Divine. The smoldering remains are still there with the few loyals members that are steadfast. I always felt I would be one of them, but no more.

There are no coincidences, a reason and a season for all things. I feel such a sense of relief now. I had no idea the stress that I felt in logging in each day. The best part of the whole ordeal is I no longer have to deal with that idiotic naked Yodaspeaking fairy elf prince anymore!  A new chapter has begun in our new clan with my closest friends. I look forward to sharing those adventures with you as well.

Hoe Down!

Dark Sorrows is the home to my three best friends, Kumani, Laini, and Lola.  Each Saturday night their clan hosts an event. I often attend their events when I am online. They are always so much fun!
This particular theme was a country western event complete with farm animals. Lady Esi hosted and King Cuda was the DJ.  Kumani and Laini took home the 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Charm, the giant chicken with no pride, won the event.
I don't think this is exactly regulation cowgirl gear, but I always have to show off my ass. haha!
Kumani went for the classy cowgirl look complete with bling bracelet, assless chaps  and a straw hanging out of her mouth.
Lola wore her cute cow outfit and squirted milk at everyone from her four fun bags.
Laini went for the hick look though no one minded. She looked fantastic and still jiggled beautifully!
